About me

My name is Zoltán Németh, I was born in Sopron, 1958. I have spent my whole life in Fertőrákos.

I began carving as a child with wood and stone. I learned from a local elder. Encouraged, after high school I went into a carving school in our capital, Budapest. I graduated here in 1978 and I worked in the Workshop of Wood Industry of the University of West Hungary, Sopron (called University of Forestry and Wood Industry back then), for ten years.

After the change of the political system and opening of the borders I opened a shop, building on the tourism around the Lake Fertő (Neusiedl). I work there since then.

By 2011 Stonework to reopen.

As a hobby I cultivate and sell bamboo.
